Adult Functional Capacity Assessment

Service Description

How Hilfe Services saves you money

Decreased rate for allied health services from a professional to the NDIS price limit!

Hilfe Services utilises an experimental assessment, reporting and recommendation approaches and therefore offers a reduced rate to our participants when providing services.

Our reduced rate is to account for service delivery inconsistency. Inconsistency is a result of our service scope with groups of individuals who experience highly variable limitations.

This will require implementation of an adaptive integration process for representing a uniquely variable individual into our model and hence, will require additional assessment

How we charge for service travel

Here at Hilfe Services we can bill up to 60 minutes total for travel (30 minutes to and from) however, our therapists endeavour to divide travel expenses between participants by tending multiple participants grouped close to each other.

We charge in 6 minute intervals and the first and last participants are charged for the travel to and from the therapists base location.

Where do we provide our services?

The health professional will assess the individual in-person which will provide the therapist with critical insight into any expressive limitations.

The health professional will seek to conduct assessments in the home setting, to provide insight into the everyday environment that influences behaviour.

Assessment can take place at a mutual location where confidentiality can be adhered to such as a library, university, someplace where the individual feels most comfortable or somewhere relevant for the service.

The health professional can conduct the assessment virtually through an interview format with some formal and informal assessment.

Questions from participants

“What do I do if I become uncomfortable during the assessment?”

Author: Stoic Samuel (Media – ICON)

Your comfort and safety are our top priorities. If you experience any discomfort or pain during the assessment, please:

  • Communicate Openly: Immediately inform your therapist about any discomfort or pain you may be experiencing.
  • Take a Break: We can pause the assessment and take a short break to allow your body to rest and recover.
  • Adjust the Activity: We can modify or adjust the activity to reduce stress on the affected area
"How does your service include ergonomic assessments for home-based workspaces?"

Author: Ambitous Alex (Media – ICON)

Our occupational therapists can conduct comprehensive ergonomic assessments of your home workspace to identify potential risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders, such as repetitive strain injuries. The assessment may include:

  • Posture Analysis: Evaluating your sitting posture, keyboard and mouse position, and monitor placement.
  • Workspace Evaluation: Assessing the height and adjustability of your chair, desk, and other equipment.
  • Lighting Assessment: Checking the lighting conditions to minimize eye strain.
  • Environmental Factors: Considering factors like temperature, noise, and air quality.

Based on the assessment findings, our therapists can provide personalized recommendations for ergonomic adjustments and modifications to your workspace.

"What experience do your therapists have working with young people who are exploring their gender and sexual identity?"

Author: Native Noah (Media – ICON)

Our therapists have extensive experience working with young people who are exploring their gender and sexual identity. They are trained to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and affirming space for individuals to:

  • Explore Identity: Discuss their feelings, thoughts, and experiences related to gender and sexuality.
  • Process Emotions: Address any emotional distress, confusion, or anxiety associated with identity exploration.
  • Develop Self-Acceptance: Build self-esteem and self-compassion.
